Description
Baobab (Adansonia digitata) is a tree native to Africa and is primarily found in the dry savannas of West, Central, and Southern Africa. It is also known as the “Tree of Life” due to its many uses and benefits. The baobab fruit is the main source of the flavor, texture, color, and nutritional value of baobab. The fruit of the baobab tree is oval-shaped and has a hard, woody shell. Inside the shell, there are pulp covered seeds which are the edible part of the fruit. The pulp is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, making it a highly nutritious food source. The fruit is harvested by hand and allowed to dry naturally in the sun. After the fruit is dried, the pulp is removed and ground into a fine powder. The powder is then sieved to remove any seeds and other debris, resulting in a smooth and creamy white powder. The powder is then packaged and sold for consumption.
